Anna Nicole Smith's daughter was all grown up and pretty in pink at Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.
Dannielynn Marshall, 8, attended the annual Louisville horserace with her dad, Larry Birkhead. The duo wore matching baby pink outfits: Dannielynn in a dress covered in pastel roses and her father in a pink blazer and tie combo.
Dannielynn looked a lot like her late mother, who attended the 2004 Churchill Downs race in the same shade of bubblegum pink.
Smith died in 2007, just months after Dannielynn was born. Birkhead has raised his daughter ever since, keeping her away from the spotlight in Kentucky, he told US Weekly at the Derby. The 8-year-old is in Girl Scouts, and he’s trying to let her be a regular kid, he said.
The daddy-daughter duo makes a regular appearance at the Derby. In 2013, the two donned colorful outfits straight out of “Mary Poppins.”
The 8-year-old ultimately had final say in what the two would wear this year, Birkhead said.
"She had my outfit ready — she said, 'Dad, you have to wear this outfit,'” he said on the Derby’s red carpet. “Then she said, 'It doesn't look right, you'll embarrass me, so wear this (instead).”
