My Birthday and Interesting Links

Greetings from The Big Apple everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful and blessed Sunday! I'm here at home relaxing and watching Oprah's Super Soul Sunday on the OWN channel. If you have Verizon Fios it's on channel 145. You guys should check it out, it's very inspirational and you learn A LOT. I've had many ah-ha moments. Comes on every Sunday and I believe it's on all day long.

My birthday was this passed Friday and I am highly GRATEFUL to the man upstairs that I was privileged to see another year of life! Growing up, there were certain years where I would cry my eyes out cuz I was getting older. But as I matured I would reassure myself that everyone was going through the same thing and that it's a BLESSING to see another year of life! Not everyone gets this kind of blessing unfortunately. I know some people who died right after graduating from high school and I had an associate who died at 21 back in 2007. It was heart-breaking to all of us because he was soooooo FUNNY! He could be simply talking about taking a walk around his block and we laugh our tail feathers OFF! I learned that life is short and we need to LIVE it, not just survive it which majority of people are doing. Implement the Law of Attraction into your life and watch how your life changes for the BEST!

So for my birthday I went to a super cool and gorgeous Cuban restaurant in Long Island. It's called Havana Central! Take a look at some pictures I took!

I had the 3 empanadas with shrimp, beef and chicken. Then there's the white meat with yellow rice n gravy and the pina colada cake. Yummy in my tummy!

This spot is AWESOME! They've got live bands every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Whoever wants to get up and dance can do so and their food is native Cuban baby! No fast food, lab-produced junk over here! There's one located at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island and another one in Times Square, Manhattan. Going to this place is a MUST!

The Royals Arrive To NYC For The First Time

Britain's Prince William and his wife, Kate, were scheduled to arrive in New York City on Sunday, the first visit to the city for both of them.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a full schedule of events in New York, including a visit to the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum and a basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

William was also set to meet with President Barack Obama at the White House on Monday while visiting Washington to attend a World Bank conference. At that meeting, he is expected to speak about combating illegal trade in wildlife parks. Kate was scheduled to tour a New York child development center with the city's first lady, Chirlane McCray.

Their visit will also include some events with other high-profile guests. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton are accompanying William and Kate to a New York reception highlighting conservation efforts.

At a black-tie scholarship fundraiser for the University of St. Andrews, other guests are expected include Tom Hanks and opera singer Renee Fleming. The ticket price went up to $10,000 per seat.

The couple met at St. Andrews; both earned degrees from the Scottish school.

Their second child in due in April.

Rita Ora's Fragrance Launch in NYC!

Hey everyone! I was invited to Rita Ora's fragrance launch this passed Tuesday, August 19th by a company called Influenster and the event was awesome! It was from 11am to 3pm and while I was there it seemed like the day was going slow which was great! They say time flies when you're having fun but not on that day. I must admit it was HOT but we all had fun. I felt like I was slightly over dressed but I couldn't help it I love making a great first impression wherever I go! I had on a sparkly purple top with black Brazilian skinny jeans and 2 inch heel mary jane shoes. My hair was in a snooki poof style lol. 

I don't have very much to say about this event but only that it was awesome and that I would totally attend another one! Chrissy Teigen, John Legend's wife, was there and so was AJ Calloway, one of ExtraTV's hosts. He also used to host 106 and Park with Free back in the day (late 90s---he had dreads back then).

There were also some DKNY models there handing us cute little water bottles and perfume samples and Dominique Ansel, the French chef who created the now infamous Cronut. He gave us all a free heart-shaped pastry pretzel along with a raspberry-flavored butter cream dip omgggggg....it was soooo GOOOOOOD! You guys have GOT to check out his restaurant in the city! He's located in NYC just not sure where exactly.    

I met some amazing people there and exchanged emails and twitter names with them to keep in touch. Also to share our ideas and keep each other updated on any awesome events taking place in the near future. Some of them are bloggers and some others are avid blog readers. This one lady caught me by surprise when she told me her age....let's just say she's above 30 but she looks like a teen! God bless her! Feels great to meet new people! Trent Shelton Is In The House!

 

For those of you who have seen his very inspirational videos on youtube, his tweets on twitter and posts on Facebook and Instagram, the time has come to see Mr. Trent Shelton LIVE! As you can see on his flyer above, his next stop will be in NYC on Saturday July 26th. This will be WORTH IT everybody!

I first came across Trent's page on facebook by accident through one of my facebook business buddies. Then again "by accident" is more like "Coincidence is the Angels' playground". My Guardian Angels guided me to befriend my current facebook business buddies to see Trent's inspirational messages! Little by little I came across 1 or 2 of his videos and picture posts. It peaked my interest right away because he was straight to the T in regards to some of the things I have gone through especially with 'Knowing Your Circle' in terms of friendship.

I have never been satisfied with the friends I've made over the years because they either had low self-esteem, jealous of me or BOOORING. They say, "A bird of a feather flocks together" but in these cases I did not have ANY of these negative qualities that these girls had so me this saying is not true. I just HAD to cut off these so called "friends" because my intuition was literally SCREAMING at me to let them go! And that's exactly what I did. I feel so much better now and I don't miss any of them! If no one is helping me grow or bring me up then I don't need them. I am a feeler so if something doesn't feel right or I straight up lose interest, I know for a fact that it's a combo of my intuition and Guardian Angels guiding me AWAY from it. I thank God everyday for this gift! In the meantime in between time, I am a loner and proud! I shall be a loner until God sends the right people my way. The positive, supportive, FUN, healthy self-esteemed people that I always wanted in my life...I BELIEVE that they are on their way. It's just a matter of time. So for those of you who can relate to me just remember to be confident in your own skin! If it means for you to eliminate those so called "friends" and be a loner for a while then do it! Be a friend to yourself, LOVE yourself, take yourself out and mingle with others just for the fun of it, attend inspirational seminars, join meetup and attend events that peak your interest, volunteer, etc. Just DO YOU!

Inspiration is what we all need whether we admit it or not and I have to say that Trent Shelton is a God send. He says it like it is! No sugar-coating, no bs. And we need more people like this in the world, seriously! I advise YOU who's reading this blog post right now to subscribe to Trent's channel on youtube and watch ALL his videos! I can assure you that there will be at least 1 video that you can relate to! As Trent says,"It all starts with YOU! #RehabTime".
