Inspirational Quote

AMEN! Wow this was deep...

Growing up, my grandmother used to tell us this French saying: "Le chien abois, la caravane passe" which translates to "The dog barks, the caravan passes". In other words a barking dog will never stop a caravan from passing by so we need to be the same as that caravan and not let any negative words shouted at us to stop nor destroy us.

Whenever you're being talked about or to in a negative way, you need to be a filtration system just like the Universe and NOT understand negation.

For example, if you say to yourself, "I don't want to lose my job", the Universe only understood, "I want to lose my job". If you keep repeating this phrase then you will end up losing your job. But if you reword this phrase and say, "I love my job", and you keep saying that, your job ain't goin' NOWHERE! Remember that words are spells.

And those who speak bad of your name are actually promoting you in the spiritual realm because, once again, the Universe can't comprehend negation. It only understands what is! For example, "He or she can't speak well!" The Universe only understood, "He or she speaks well". See what I'm saying? Either way you WIN! People will always talk about you in a good or bad way. And after a while you won't even care anymore!

Joel Osteen said in one of his sermons, "If you find yourself being talked about, that's because you have the gift of influence". So GO out there and keep being YOU! God and the Universe is ALWAYS on your side!πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜ŠπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ‘‘

Do you LOVE getting compliments? I know I do!

Just got a compliment from the bank teller! She came out of her seat to walk over to me to give me the compliment. She goes, "Omg your eyebrows are so PERFECT!!!" I express my gratitude and give her my secret. She expressed her gratitude in return. What I have been putting out into the Universe over the years is now coming back to me! I would most def go out of my way to give someone an honest compliment from the heart! This is a very rare thing especially amongst most females. When you give a compliment today I PROMISE you will get one back soon, depending on how aligned you are with the Universe. The saying "what goes around, comes around" is LEGIT! This makes the 2nd time this month for me! I challenge you all to give compliments from the heart today into the next 30 days n see what you get! If you struggle in giving compliments then something is really wrong with your self-esteem and you NEED to fix it fast! True confidence is when you give compliments freely and genuinely!

9 Characteristics Of Highly Desirable Women

The dictionaries define “Desirable” as “worth having or wanting; pleasant, excellent or fine.”
Any man or woman who has dreamed of a future has probably created an image of what he or she would desire most in their partner. And most women have probably wished to be more desirable at some point. While the world keeps hankering over what exactly are the characteristics of highly desirable women, the truth is that we can only speculate. The definition will keep evolving.
However, we can safely say that highly desirable women will likely have the following nine characteristics.

1. They don’t chase people

Highly desirable women would rather chase their own awesomeness, because they know running after people is just a waste of time. They also know that it is a much better idea to become better versions of their own selves. The world will take notice when they progress in their own lives.
They don’t have time for such chases because they are just too busy creating a better life for themselves. That’s what makes a woman more desirable — that carefree, confident attitude. They are complete in themselves.

2. They are in control of their emotions

You won’t find desirable women moping about every bad relationship or failure in their lives. Instead, they are always in control of their emotions. They don’t waste their time and energy in harboring useless emotions that won’t bring them progress.
Simply put, desirable women would much rather be a shoulder when needed than be a constant cry baby.

3. They avoid gossip

Desirable women would rather use their time productively than for indulging in petty gossip. Gossip and too much talking creates drama. Desirable women know this. Petty gossip, useless talking, and drama is for school girls — not the desirable women that we look up to.

4. They are not attention seekers

You will not see desirable women posting selfies constantly or changing their relationship statuses on social media with every crush. They don’t like to spam people with such trivialities. They would much rather be known and talked about for their real and meaningful achievements.
They believe in earning attention from like-minded people, not snatching it with constant updates on the happenings in their lives. They earn respect instead of asking for it. They believe in maintaining a mystery about their lives which only selected people can have access to.

5. They don’t lose themselves in their relationships

It’s not that they hold back. Desirable women don’t lose themselves to create happiness for someone else. They have a life of their own that goes beyond the relationship. They don’t cling to their boyfriends or girlfriends constantly.
They don’t lose sight of their goals and dreams for love. They don’t lose their identity. Desirable women make smart decisions about how much time they are willing to devote to their relationships and to their goals. They set their priorities. They let their relationships add to their lives — not become their whole lives.

6. They have hobbies and passions

Desirable women make massive efforts to become better at their hobbies and passions. You won’t find these women constantly procrastinating. They find out what they love doing and do it with finesse.
Desirable women don’t waste their lives with mindless addictions, like staring at their mobile phones all day. They use their time to take up hobbies and work on improving. Some of the most desirable women are the ones who care deeply about their hobbies. It defines them and makes them more interesting people.

7. They are fiercely intelligent

Intelligence does not always refer to IQ. Desirable women are fiercely intelligent in terms of their understanding of the world and its people. They have a certain kind of wisdom that comes from experience, from a plethora of mistakes and a life full of lessons.
They have impeccable understanding of life and themselves — something that really adds to their desirability. They are no strangers to deep conversation.

8. They are always graceful

Women who understand and take pride in their womenhood are the ones that know that grace and elegance are not qualities you compromise with. It’s not about their appearance but their aura. What makes them highly desirable is that they don’t worry about their physical shortcomings. They fix what they can and carry themselves with elegance and charm that only a lady can possess.
They dress well and know how to exude confidence. What makes this all the more easier is that desirable women know that grace does not come with expensive fashion choices. It comes with self confidence.

9. They are brilliant communicators

They have clarity of thought and it shows in the words they choose, no matter which language those words are in. The confidence that they exude can easily win over hearts. They are logical with the right mix of rationality and emotion. Desirable women don’t overdo it.
They will let you talk, make you feel wanted, hear you with compassion, and show genuineness in their interactions. They know how important it is to be a good communicator and they also know what it takes to be one.
These are some of the characteristics of highly desirable women. Of course, there are many other traits that can be deemed “desirable.” Nevertheless, these are a few characteristics that will always draw us in.

7 Things Emotionally Intelligent People Don’t Do

The restaurant manager who speaks with poise and grace to the patron complaining loudly about the wait service. The levelheaded friend you call in your greatest times of need. The compassionate but composed rescue worker who aids victims after a natural catastrophe. The partner who angers rarely, forgives easily, and assumes accountability for their actions. The successful CEO who balances her profession, her family responsibilities, and her personal hobbies with equal measures of calm and confidence.
What do these people have in common?
In two words: Emotional Intelligence. A relatively new trend in the realm of pop culture and psychology today, Emotional Intelligence — or EQ — has existed since the beginning of time. According to Psychology Today, the preeminent site for mental health education and information, Emotional Intelligence is defined as an aptitude for identifying and managing emotions, and the emotions of others. It consists of three primary skills: the ability to analyze interior emotions and the feelings of those around them, the capacity to apply emotions to tasks, and the facility to take control of emotions — whether it’s managing their own before they veer out of control, or having the strength and capability to make another person smile, settle down, or handle a situation appropriately.
Those with high Emotional “IQs” have been proven to enjoy more prosperity in life. Whether they’re in a social or professional environment, they thrive. Studies demonstrate they have fewer mental health issues, including depression and anxiety. Their personal lives aren’t train wrecks, precisely because they’re lived from the point of thoughtful — and meaningful — decisions. They outperform others, excel at their jobs, are happy in their relationships, and consistently work towards attaining positive results in all aspects of life. So, the question is, what don’t they do?
Here are 7 things emotionally intelligent people, as a rule, avoid:

1. They don’t get caught up in other people’s drama

One of the hallmarks of Emotional Intelligence is empathy, and those with high EQs extend it to everyone they cross. But there’s an enormous difference between displaying empathy towards a friend or loved one and allowing another person’s rage or misery to incense, dominate, or merely influence one’s well-being. Think of the histrionic behavior of your co-worker who is “distraught” not because she’s going through a break-up but because her friend is. Or that cousin of yours who, instead of focusing on her individual personal crises, purposefully seeks out people who are distressed so that her problems disappear via distraction — a habit so ingrained she can’t seem to address her the complications in her own life.
Emotionally intelligent people, on the other hand, listen carefully, provide gentle, loving, but authoritative advice, and offer assistance. But they don’t permit others’ lives and reactions to rule their own.

2. They don’t complain

Whining and grumbling implies two things — one, that we are victims, and two, there are no solutions to our problems. Rarely does an emotionally intelligent person feel victimized, and even more infrequently does an emotionally intelligent person feel that a solution is beyond their grasp. Instead of looking for someone or something to blame, they immediately think of how to constructively address the dilemma. They also know that their complaints influence the emotional responses of those around them, and instead search for ways to bemoan the dissolution of a relationship or a disappointment with a friend in private, effective ways — whether it’s taking a yoga class, meditating alone at a park, or simply getting their feelings out on the page.

3. They don’t always say yes — to others and themselves

Like empathy, self-control and conviction are sure signs of an emotionally solid person. Emotionally intelligent people are well-aware that a second glass of wine will lead to negative consequences the next morning, just as they know that an invitation to go on a spontaneous weekend rendezvous will detract them from fulfilling their preexisting commitments. They are definitive about their decisions, rather than saying “I don’t know, maybe?” or “Perhaps I’ll skip the gym today,” which invites doubt — and with that, heightened anxiety, even depression.
The more often emotionally intelligent people exercise their right to say no, and the more frequently they rely on their willpower, the freer they are to concentrate on their ambitions and overall well-being.

4. They don’t gossip

Emotionally acute people sidestep gossip as determinedly as they skirt drama. To involve themselves in scandalous talk, they know, is to shame another for a supposed error — and an emotionally intelligent person understands that all humans are equally deserving, and that what others might perceive as a mistake is an opportunity for improvement.

5. They don’t count on others for happiness or confidence

Emotionally intelligent people are self-sufficient in all manners of life, including their contentment and peace of mind. They have learned that to bank on someone else making them feel joyful or worthy is to put themselves at risk for disappointment and hopelessness. Rather, they take their emotions in their own hands and find hobbies that delight them, strive for achievements that will lead to a sense of self-worth, and search within for love and acceptance.

6. They don’t engage in negative self-talk

While few of us are entirely immune to thinking (or saying) pessimistic statements that begin with “I” (“I’m unattractive,” “I should have done better,” “I’m pathetic”), emotionally intelligent have the ability to curb cynical thoughts before they fall down the proverbial rabbit hole. Instead, they rely on facts to come to conclusions. For some, it’s a mere glance at their experience and accomplishments outlined on their CVs; for others, it’s the appearance of a clean and organized house, or an internal analysis of what they’ve done right.
After all, emotionally intelligent people acknowledge that negative thoughts are just that — thoughts — just as they recognize that the derogatory interior voices they hear are theirs to turn down, tune out, or silence completely.

7. They don’t dwell on the past

People who exist more in their past than in their present are susceptible to a barrage of mental and spiritual grievances, from regret and nostalgia to agitation and trepidation. Emotionally intelligent people honor their pasts — the people they have loved, the mistakes they have made, the opportunities they’ve eschewed — but are mindful of the importance of living squarely in the here and now.
By learning from the past (instead of dwelling on it), the emotionally intelligent have the power to inform their present — without diminishing their ability to advance or harness three of the most vital emotions of all: Self-satisfaction, gratitude, and hope.

Let Gratitude Bring Back Your Smile

Every so often, gratitude and love become a challenge.  We want to smile at the one we love, but we just cannot seem to find our smile.  We want to look lovingly at the special person in our life, but he has hurt us.  Or perhaps we have inadvertently hurt him and we can feel the tension because instead of talking about the problem, he is off sulking or has simply shut down.
This can also happen with friends, colleagues, and family.
Sometimes just a hug can be the ice breaker.  But what happens when sadness or anger linger too long and you just cannot muster up those loving feelings? What happens when anxiety and depression set in?
This is the time when Robert A. Emmons, Ph.D., a professor of psychology at University of California at Davis, would be reminding me, as he did in an interview last year:
"Gratitude is an attitude, not a feeling that can be easily willed." Even if you are not satisfied with your life as it is today, he pointed out, "if you go through grateful motions, the emotion of gratitude should be triggered. It is like improving your posture and as a result becoming more energetic and self-confident."
Dr. Emmons added: "Attitude change often follows behavior change. By living the gratitude that we do not necessarily feel, we can begin to feel that gratitude that we live."
Smiling, saying "thank you," sending thank-you notes, and making gratitude visits are attitude boosters.
Gratitude benefits
Grateful people are found to be generally happier, with more social connections and fewer bouts of depression, which affects 20.9 million American adults. The National Institute of Mental Health reports that about 9.5 percent of the U.S. population 18 and older has a mood disorder in a given year.
Jeffrey J. Froh, Psy.D., assistant professor of psychology at Hofstra University says:
Children as well as adults benefit from gratitude. Jeffrey J. Froh, Psy.D., assistant professor of psychology at Hofstra University, in Hempstead, N.Y., says his findings indicate that grateful children do better in school, have fewer headaches and stomach aches, get better test scores and may be more community minded.
Dr. Froh is practicing what he preaches with his own four-year-old son, whom he asks each night: "What was your favorite part of school today?" He is also helping him to be appreciative of nature, and related this vignette: "We were outside the other day, and out of the blue my " son said, 'Look at how red those leaves are. Aren't they beautiful?'
He commented: "A lot of these findings are things we learned in kindergarten or things our grandmothers told us, but we now have scientific evidence to prove them."
Scientific observation
I asked Dr. Emmons if the purpose of his work was to convince others that gratitude can be measured from a scientific perspective, not just religious.
He pointed out that through their research they have "replaced armchair philosophy and moral and religious rhetoric regarding gratitude with empirical observation of what gratitude is and what it does in people's lives."

Developing the gratitude attitude -- try the basket method
Find a place in your home to turn a table into a gratitude desk.
  • Fill a basket with stationary, note cards, and even birthday cards.
  • Make certain to have at least two working pens in the basket.
  • Add at least one book of stamps.
  • Buy a journal in which you make a note to yourself of someone who deserves a thank you note and date it. When you send out that note, add that date as well. What you will often see is that too much time elapses from the day in which you said to yourself "I should write that person a note" and the day you actually get to write it, stamp it, and get it into the mail .And "No" email does not have the same power.
As you begin writing to others, you will feel your smile return.  That heaviness in your heart will begin to dissipate. When that happens, write to the love in your life and speak from your heart.

Why We're Nicer to Strangers Than the People We Love Most

Why is it we so often find ourselves treating the ones we most love the most shabbily? Contrary to popular wisdom, I don't think that the answer is that familiarity breeds contempt. After all, it's not that all the wonderful things we loved about our loved ones when they first entered our lives have gradually become repulsive to us ("I hate that you're so kind to everyone!"). Rather, it's that our tolerance for all the things we've always disliked invariably diminishes over time.
Add to this the fact that pain commands our attention far more than pleasure and we arrive at the explanation: We have the least tolerance for the negative qualities of those with whom we spend the most time.
But of course we do want to treat our loved ones well—and often feel tremendous guilt when we don't. So, presuming we're not so fed up with our spouse that we want a divorce, so fed up with our children that we want to put them up for adoption, or so fed up with our parents that we want to cut off contact, what's to be done?
I'd offer the following strategies:
Pause on a regular basis to vividly subtract your loved ones from your life

The goal here is to produce intense feelings of gratitude. And nothing produces gratitude for something like being threatened with its loss. Studies show that we are all capable of imagining the loss of people in our lives concretely enough to evoke the gratitude that we still have for them. We can best do this, it turns out, by vividly imagining specific ways a person might be taken from us—actually playing out scenarios in our mind in which some entirely believable event snatches them away. Try this: Write a list of things you love about your loved ones and then carve out some time every morning—just a few minutes—to imagine how you really could (or, one day, will) lose them. We're more likely to have an emotional reaction to these imaginings if we envision the absence of a loved ones as visually as possible. If we seek to imagine a life without our spouse, for example, we would imagine seeing the empty space his or her absence would leave in our life, seeing the bed in which we now sleep together without him or her next to us, seeing the table at which we eat dinner but without him or her across from us, and so on. And when we think about how we would have to alter our daily routine in his or her absence, we would again imagine doing so with images—images of going to movies alone, taking vacations alone, attending parent-teacher conferences alone, and so on. Repeating this practice on a regular basis can transform it into a habit that could continue to fill you with gratitude as long as you continue to do it.

Spend time with your loved ones in the company of other people

As I've written earlier(link is external), who we are turns out to be largely a function of who we’re with. Have you ever noticed, for example, how you feel and behave one way with your family and another with your friends—and yet another with your co-workers or boss? We may all be multiple selves(link is external), but just which self we are at any one moment isn’t as much up to us as it is to the people around us. I'm suggesting, then, that when in the company of others with whom you feel less intimate, you'll invariably find yourself behaving more politely and kindly—to our loved ones as well. Further, you'll have a chance to observe and appreciate the better selves your loved ones have inside them, which are also being pulled out of them by the presence of others. In short, the dynamic between you and your loved ones will change, and generally for the better, when other people are present.
Take a break from your loved ones as needed

Don't do this because you need to recharge your tolerance for the things about your loved ones that annoy you. Do this to acquire a fresh perspective. Get out into the world, alone, so that other experiences and other people pull a more generous self out of you, a self that sees your current life more broadly; that more easily finds a way to appreciate the good in your loved ones; and that achieves a more balanced view of the things that frustrate you about them.
We shouldn't treat our loved ones less kindly than we do strangers. But the reality is that we often do. The suggestions above are just a few strategies to improve your tolerance of your loved ones' idiosyncrasies, so that, to take one perspective, you can reach the end of your life without feeling regret about how you treated them. For nothing, it seems to me, could be worse than reaching that point, having the parts of life that don't matter stripped away from your concern, and realizing just how poorly you treated those who deserved your best.

Choosing People Wisely

When we err in choosing a friend, romantic partner, or whom to hire, the person often is one of these types:

Hottie.  Most of us are drawn toward people who society traditionally deems attractive: symmetrical features, not overweight, shapely in women, strong-looking in men, clear skin, full head of hair, etc. But because most people agree on who's a hottie, they're in demand even if they’re obnoxious. As a result, some hotties are particularly difficult to deal with, aware that some people will accept their bad behavior because they’re gorgeous. Per this Business Insider report, attractive people have an edge not only in personal life but in work, indeed in nearly all aspects of life. Do you want to give so many brownie points to The Pretty People?

Not too smart.  We admire but tend to be intimidated by people who are much more intelligent than we are. We think, if only unconsciously, things like, “Who does he think he is?” or “Well, she may be smart but she’s too full of herself (or obnoxious, ugly, etc.) Should you try to tamp down your insecurity and value a person’s intelligence for the treasure it is?

Funster. Funsters laugh a lot, ever joke, and talk about the frivolous: pop culture, the big sports game, fashion, who’s sleeping with who. Yes, they make you laugh, but do their benefits to you outweigh their liabilities? For example, you may find funsters, as an employee or live-in romantic partner to be a procrastinator. Maybe you do need that light-hearted spirit in your life, or woulld you be wiser to value serious people more highly?

Laid back. It’s comfortable to be around relaxed people but some of the most interesting, productive people are intense and driven. Do you prematurely reject them because they can be stressful to be around and/or because you feel inferior?

Games-player. Most of us claim to like people who are direct but in practice, prefer the mystery of games-players: those who hide what they really feel and, worse, do things to make you think the opposite of what they feel. For example, a person is really interested in being your romantic partner but not only doesn’t show it but deliberately is dismissive. Many people are attracted to that hard-to-get routine. But are you sure you want to be involved with such a person? Later on, games-playing can turn into serious deception and drama.

Bad boy or girl. Some people are attracted to bad boys or bad girls. Perhaps it gives them someone to fix. Or they like that a Baddie might expose them to edgy things. But the relationship highway is littered with roadkill of relationships with Baddies. Might you want to resist Bad Boys and Girls in favor of people more likely to be good in a relationship?

Trent Shelton Is In The House!

For those of you who have seen his very inspirational videos on youtube, his tweets on twitter and posts on Facebook and Instagram, the time has come to see Mr. Trent Shelton LIVE! As you can see on his flyer above, his next stop will be in NYC on Saturday July 26th. If you are interested in seeing him live check out the website at the very bottom of the flyer and purchase your tickets there. Further details can be found there as well. This will be WORTH IT everybody!

I first came across Trent's page on facebook by accident through one of my facebook business buddies. Then again "by accident" is more like "Coincidence is the Angels' playground". My Guardian Angels guided me to befriend my current facebook business buddies to see Trent's inspirational messages! Little by little I came across 1 or 2 of his videos and picture posts. It peaked my interest right away because he was straight to the T in regards to some of the things I have gone through especially with 'Knowing Your Circle' in terms of friendship.

I have never been satisfied with the friends I've made over the years because they either had low self-esteem, jealous of me or BOOORING. They say, "A bird of a feather flocks together" but in these cases I did not have ANY of these negative qualities that these girls had so me this saying is not true. I just HAD to cut off these so called "friends" because my intuition was literally SCREAMING at me to let them go! And that's exactly what I did. I feel so much better now and I don't miss any of them! If no one is helping me grow or bring me up then I don't need them. I am a feeler so if something doesn't feel right or I straight up lose interest, I know for a fact that it's a combo of my intuition and Guardian Angels guiding me AWAY from it. I thank God everyday for this gift! In the meantime in between time, I am a loner and proud! I shall be a loner until God sends the right people my way. The positive, supportive, FUN, healthy self-esteemed people that I always wanted in my life...I BELIEVE that they are on their way. It's just a matter of time. So for those of you who can relate to me just remember to be confident in your own skin! If it means for you to eliminate those so called "friends" and be a loner for a while then do it! Be a friend to yourself, LOVE yourself, take yourself out and mingle with others just for the fun of it, attend inspirational seminars, join meetup and attend events that peak your interest, volunteer, etc. Just DO YOU!

Inspiration is what we all need whether we admit it or not and I have to say that Trent Shelton is a God send. He says it like it is! No sugar-coating, no bs. And we need more people like this in the world, seriously! I advise YOU who's reading this blog post right now to subscribe to Trent's channel on youtube and watch ALL his videos! I can assure you that there will be at least 1 video that you can relate to! As Trent says,"It all starts with YOU! #RehabTime".
